nAblement · Service brief · August 2026AI & Automation Opportunity Assessment
We spend two days inside your business documenting how work gets done. What comes back is a report on where AI and automation gives you time back or earns you more, with every opportunity ranked and priced.
The Problem
By now most owners have used ChatGPT for something, and so have the people who work for them. Software vendors have been adding AI features to products businesses already pay for. It showed up everywhere at once, and almost none of it arrived with an explanation of what it is actually good for.
It is a tool, and like any tool it earns its place by making the work lighter. Plenty of what gets sold as AI does the opposite, adding a step to a process that already worked and a subscription nobody has time to revisit. Which one you end up with is not visible in a demo, and the answer is different in every business. Someone has to work it out for yours.
That is what we will do for you. As engineers who build these systems, keeping current on what the technology can actually do is our full-time job, and nobody understands how your business runs better than the people already running it. So we come in and learn from your team, and you get back a report on where this technology is worth using in your business, with a price and a return on each one.
How It Works
01Pre-Arrival Discovery
We review your systems and org structure along with the types of work moving through the business. That tells us who to interview and what to look for, and it means the onsite days start with a schedule already built.
02The Onsite Assessment
We audit the processes themselves. We interview leadership and the people doing the work, and we map your core workflows end to end. What comes out is a record of how the business actually runs.
03Analysis & Action Plan
We run the numbers on where the time and money are going, and where more could be earned. Each opportunity is weighed by what it returns against what it costs, and the report ranks them.
What We Look At
Operations
We map intake, scheduling, handoffs, status checks, and the steps that repeat on every piece of work.
Back Office and Finance
We trace invoicing, collections, payroll preparation, approvals, reconciliation, and the deadlines somebody has to remember.
Sales and Client Acquisition
We review missed calls, response times, quoting, follow-up, past-customer outreach, and where inquiries stall.
Your Software Stack
We check unused modules, systems that never got connected, spreadsheet workarounds, overlapping subscriptions, and AI features nobody configured.
Reporting and Analytics
We examine month-end close, margin by line of work and by customer, and how each report gets assembled.
Marketing and Online Presence
We look at search visibility, the site, booking forms, reviews, and where an inquiry goes once it arrives.
What You Get
The recommendation is whatever fixes the problem.
The report names every opportunity worth acting on and puts a number on what each one costs and returns. None of the opportunities we find come from a catalog — they are bespoke to you, and come directly out of the interviews and the workflow maps.
We hunt for the fixes you can quickly make yourself, like changing a setting or switching on a software feature you already pay for. When a workflow does need something new built, we write it up in full — detailed enough for any developer to build from — and deliver it with the price we would build it for. The report is worth the money whether or not you ever call us again.
Every recommendation in the ranked list covers four things
The Problem
We name the problem, where it sits in your workflow, how often it happens, and what it is costing you.
The Solution
We specify the fix, in enough detail that any developer could build it.
The Workflow Impact
We show what the fix changes for the people who run that workflow, and for everyone downstream of them.
Expected ROI
We estimate the return in hours, money, errors avoided, and turnaround time.
Also included
Process Diagrams, Current and Recommended. We chart each workflow before and after.
Findings & Observations Report. It carries the interview summaries and field notes.
Executive Presentation. We present to your leadership and you keep the slides.
Total Ownership. Every deliverable is yours, without restriction.
Guarantees & Scope
Fixed pricing
We quote the price in writing before we start, and there are no hourly overruns or change orders.
Our estimate is the quote
Hiring us to build earns no discount, and our quote matches the estimate we printed.
Clear boundaries
We do not assess IT infrastructure, security, or org design. We name it and refer that work out.
Why Us
We do this work for small businesses
Eighteen months of building and consulting in that market stands behind every recommendation. The case studies are on this site.
We work onsite
A remote assessment runs on questionnaires and calls, so it only finds what you knew to tell it. Two days in the building is how the findings include what nobody thought to mention.
We sell nothing we recommend
Free assessments come from firms that earn margin on what they recommend. We take no commissions, no referral fees, and no reseller margin, so cancelling something stays on the table.
Engineers do the analysis
The people assessing your business build these systems for a living, so the fixes are ones we know how to build and the write-ups are specific enough to hand to any developer.
Investment$4,900 $3,000
